Benzenes

Manufacturing high-purity benzene,

toluene and xylene from coke oven

gas

JFE Chemical produces a variety of benzene, toluene, and xylene products of high purity by recovering the benzene, toluene, and xylene contained in coke oven gas, and then refining it by distillation after hydrodesulfurization and denitrification. The substances are recovered from coke oven gas at all of our plants, while our benzene, toluene, and xylene products are produced at our Kasaoka and Chiba plants.

Benzenes
Benzenes

Benzenes are used as a basic raw material in the production of petrochemical products such as styrene monomers, phenols, and cyclohexanes. They are processed into plastics, synthetic rubbers, nylons, and other materials used in a wide range of everyday items such as plastic products and clothing.

Toluenes

Toluenes are used as solvents in paints and inks.

Mixed xylenes

Mixed xylenes are used as solvents in paints and oil refining.
