The coal tar, crude benzene, and other substances obtained from JFE Steel's coking plants are used to produce high-quality intermediate materials that are vital to a wide variety of industries.

Spherulitic graphite, a product unique to JFE Chemical, features a high packing density, as well as high electric conductivity and also high thermal conductivity. Thanks to these characteristics, it is widely used as a material for the anodes of lithium-ion (Li-ion) rechargeable batteries.

This sheet-shaped plastic material is formed from thermoplastic resin and glass fiber using papermaking techniques. Thanks to its excellent machinability, the material can be formed using only a press, without the need to melt resin, for the manufacture of products such as the interior ceilings and rear trays of cars.
